Privacy Policy

Summary

You do not need an account to use onice, and we do not ask you for personal information to browse the statistics. We do not sell personal data and we do not show advertising.

What we process

Like most web servers, ours records technical information about every request: the IP address, the time, the page requested, the browser type and the response. We use it to run the site, keep it secure and understand which pages are used. It is kept only as long as needed for these purposes.

We also keep our own record of page views to learn how visitors find the site: the time, the page opened, the website or service that linked to it (for example a search engine, a social network or an AI assistant), the browser type, the language and a rough device class. We do not store your IP address in this record. It holds only a short code made from your address and browser with a secret that changes every day, so that visits can be counted within one day but not followed from day to day. These records are deleted after about a year.

If you create an account, we keep your e-mail address, a protected form of your password (never the password itself) and the date of sign-up. We use the address to confirm the account, to let you sign in and to reset the password. You can delete the account on its page at any time, and the data is removed with it.

If you contact us, we use the details you send us to answer you.

E-mails we may send

The mails that make an account work, such as the link to confirm your address or a password reset, are always sent. All other e-mails are optional. They are off until you switch them on (news and updates), or on only for a service you use (notices about the API), and you choose in your account at any time. We send an optional e-mail only to an address that you confirmed, and every one of them has a link to unsubscribe in one click. We keep the date on which you agreed to receive news. We do not give your address to anyone for advertising.

Cookies and local storage

The public pages do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may keep small technical items (for example a remembered choice on a page). They stay on your device and you can delete them in your browser settings. When you first visit, we ask you to agree to these terms and to this use of cookies. We remember your answer in a cookie named onice_consent for a year. When you sign in, a session cookie keeps you signed in until you sign out.

Sharing

We share information only with the providers that host and operate the site, and when the law requires it.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its use, by contacting us. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom you have rights under data protection law, including the right to complain to your supervisory authority.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date above shows the latest version.
